Wadebridge celebrates the King's Coronation

Flags and bunting were strewn across the town, neighbours came together with their best dishes for community street parties, and good times were had by all as King Charles III took to the throne for his Coronation on Saturday, 6th May.

As it has done for generations, the Coronation was held at the magnificent Westminster Abbey in London, but the celebrations continued across the country and beyond to mark this momentous occasion.

In Wadebridge, the John Betjeman Centre held events over the week leading up to the Coronation, including a Red, White & Blue themed quiz night, a royal-themed Goldies singing session and a Coronation High Tea.

The Wadebridge Big Lunch was held on Molesworth Street on the Sunday, with members of the community heading over to share in the celebrations with neighbours, friends and family. Live music and entertainment was enjoyed throughout the big lunch.

Across town, local businesses got into the spirit of things with spectacular window displays donning red, white and blue, and people were able to celebrate at The Churchill Bars throughout the weekend, with a quiz night, live music and a screening of the Coronation itself.

The Pickwick Inn at St Issey held a special Coronation party, with hog roast, fireworks and bonfire, plus live music.
