It's pumpkin season: Pick your own at Trevathan Farm

As October half term approaches, and we look forward to some spooktacular fun over Halloween, there could be nothing more fitting than a trip to your local farm shop to pick your own pumpkin.

Whether you wish to opt for the big traditional orange ones, a green or white quirky one, a munchkin pumpkin or perhaps a display of all kinds of different pumpkins and squashes, make sure to head to Trevathan Farm in St Endellion in the run-up to Halloween for a fun day picking your own pumpkins.

Throw on your wellies and head out into the Trevathan Farm pumpkin patch for what is sure to be a great day for the entire family. Why not book a table in the farm shop restaurant afterwards for a spot of lunch using the farm’s own seasonal produce?

How to make use of your pumpkin this Halloween

  • Carve faces to make spooky Jack-o’- lanterns. Get creative by designing your own scary faces, or you could do something a little different by carving a message or scene into yours. Pop in a tealight or some fairy lights and watch your pumpkin glow in the darkness on All Hallow’s Eve.

  • Make sure to remove the flesh of the pumpkin inside to make delicious soups, curries, risottos, tray bakes and even sweet treats - pumpkins can go far, don’t waste yours!

  • Roast the pumpkin seeds for a healthy snack, soup or salad topping!
